The largest airliner operating regularly is the B757 (DAL) while FedEx’s A300 is the largest daily visitor. The smaller runway helps to relieve congestion associated with the large number of private aircraft based at this airport. KSNA has two parallel runways but only one is suitable for commercial airliners. Other international destinations from KSNA include Los Cabos (ASA) and Puerto Vallarta (SWA) in Mexico. WestJet is the only foreign carrier serving KSNA, currently offering one daily flight to Vancouver, BC. KSNA is linked by non-stop flights to all major cities on the west coast and almost all major hubs throughout the country. John Wayne airport is served by most major US carriers and their regional partners including American, Delta, United, Southwest, Alaska, Frontier, SkyWest, Compass and Horizon. The least attractive, however, are the massive parking structures surrounding the terminal. The most distinctive architectural features are the clean curves of the semi-cylindrical metallic roof sections. The new addition blends seamlessly with the older terminals and increased the total number of boarding gates to 22. Terminal C is the most recent addition, built as an extension toward the south to accommodate Southwest Airlines increasing traffic. The facility is subdivided into three terminals, A, B and C. It is also known as Orange County airport and it is located in the city of Santa Ana, approximately 30 miles southeast of LAX.
